How technology positively impacts our lives
If I asked you why technology is important and helpful in your life, surely you would have a thousand examples to talk about, including communicating through this blog.
But apart from the convenience it provides in our daily lives, in our relationships and in everything we do, the time has come to understand where it is present and how it can positively impact society and therefore our lives.
First, think about what your life was like 20 years ago (if you weren't even born, think less time, 10, for example).
Notice how much has changed, so quickly and exponentially, since then. That’s what we call digital transformation, which has actually happening for a long time.
Right, but how does technology help in your life?
Well, you may have heard of AI (Artificial Intelligence, which besides being a bit old movie is also a new reality of technology). If you take a moment to note, this term has long been used in futuristic robot films, and is now easily seen and commented on in television and newspaper reports, courses, videos, and so on.
Is it about to become reality? It’s already a reality and it’s also part of your daily life.
AI is present not only in big industries but also in your daily life, through everyday solutions such as the Google Maps GPS that we use on our phone, the very voice command we use on our phone when we are too lazy to type something, like Siri or “ok Google” and we simply ask the phone to look for us, and what about Netflix and Spotify who use AI to incredibly select the best movies and songs for our profile without us having to do absolutely nothing? I bet you can’t live without them.
Not to mention the autonomous cars that drive alone and are already being developed, smart TVs that bring a new wave of high-tech televisions and several new gadgets that can do everything, from traveling your children (a kind of modern baby monitor) to talking to you through speakers for your home.
Can you see how something that could only been seen in movies years ago, now is part of your daily life so naturally?
And why some people not only don’t understand but are afraid that artificial intelligence is more present in our lives?
Because people still didn’t understand the concept itself, what it already represents and what it can still do for us when we talk about solutions, in many areas.
Just to give you an idea, software operating with artificial intelligence are now able to detect cancer with over 90% accuracy, meaning that many more people can be diagnosed earlier and have a better chance of surviving one of the most terrible diseases. and that kills the most today.
Technologies applied to Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Predictive Analytics, Big Data Analytics, and the Internet of Things are transforming not only the way companies work and create processes, but also play a fundamental role in society's life, and the best of all is that these technologies come as tools to help and not to replace workers as many people once thought they would be.
But you may ask yourself: what about the jobs? Will AI replace human work?
Well, as briefly quoted above, I believe this was also the fear of those who lived in the eighteenth century during the Industrial Revolution, the fear of workers losing their jobs for machines.
So, what happened? More and more factories were emerging, generating even more jobs, new tools and new professions.
That is, something completely beneficial and still expanding today, which since the twentieth century has been seen in the same way through the Digital Revolution.
And this is coupled with less process bureaucracy, less waste, more profit and a plethora of strengths that make technology come to add rather than divide or diminish human labor.
A true multiplication of market potential, and AI is expected to move more than US$125 billion next year.
There are many new ways of looking at technology these days, and the most important thing is to know how it is already present in our lives, how we handle it and how it can help even more.
Instead of asking “what if not”, what about asking yourself “what if”?
Technology is in our hands. We can and should also think of solutions that add to our lives and that can impact not only the environment in which we operate, but an entire society.
A good example of this is in the industrial use of AI, such as Autaza, which uses in its products such as Autaza Hybrid, Autaza Paint and Autaza Aero for example, technology to measure quality inspection in companies, providing a smart method, less rework and less waste (more economy), manufacturing optimization and of course, increased efficiency and reduced time in quality processes, serving as a tool that adds a lot to the quality inspector's work.
That is: rethink to solve. You may still have questions about the technology impacts, but surely you no longer live without it, so how about being part of it?
